Josue Miguel Frausto (born May 27th, 1999) better known by his stage name Josue Frausto is an American singer, rapper, producer, songwriter, and dancer. Born in Encinitas, California, and Raised in Oceanside, California, he is an independent artist.
Started making music back in 2017, delivering his first Single on January 22, 2019, Josue Frausto has been continually putting out tracks from that point onward. His main genre of music is R&B, Hip-Hop, and Pop.
His dad came up with the name “Josue” which is Spanish for “Joshua”. And his friends from Oceanside will always call him Frosty or by his last name. His community was so open to his name that he decided to keep his real name as my stage name. Most of the time, people will have a hard time saying his name properly, but it’s pronounced (Ho-Sway) (Frost-o). Ever since then all his tracks are released under his Stage name.
Josue describes his music as unique and versatile as I sing or rap towards subtle or hard beats.
His creative process involves him finding the top-tier beats. For example, he’ll go on YouTube and find the best songs producers make and sing or rap over them. He puts time and effort into getting a perfect pitch for each song. It takes a lot of passion for him to find the right tone and the right meaning in the music. He’ll usually take a week to work on one song. One day to record the demo and the rest of the week to put the fine details.
Josue has been influenced by his dad because his dad used to be in a band with his brothers back in the 1980s. He’s always loved his dad’s music choices. He’s listened to artists like REO Speed wagon, Prince, Michael Jackson, Santana, Bee Gees, and so many other artists he can’t think off the top of his head. He taught him how to sing when Josue was 6 years old. From then on, he sang with him when they were at Church together or singing classic tunes in the car. In 2013, he joined his Oceanside High School Choir where he learned how to improve his voice with a huge group of people. They were so welcoming of Josue because he wasn’t the most social person in the classroom. But when he sang a song, they started to cheer him on because he has such a beautiful voice. Josue has been in the program for 3 years and they were the best moments of his life. In 2014, his cousin Erick Medina introduced him to song writing and that day forever changed the way he writes music because he loves to write narrative poems. So, writing these poems in a song is such a great experience for him especially if he wants to express his emotions with it. After he graduated High School, he attended Mira Costa College to study Recording Arts but at the same time, he was learning how to dance in Old School Hip-Hop fashion.
From there, he began to study the ways of Hip-Hop and he was able to write songs like a rapper. In 2018, Josue was going through downhill because of the passing of his grandmother and his best friend Alan. His grandmother was sick, and his friend was murdered. He was also going through heartbreak with this girl that used him to get her ex-boyfriend jealous and they were together. So, it was tough for that year. But then in 2019, he dropped his first song “Out Here” and the community was surprised that he dropped it. He continues to drop his first album “Dead Before the Dawn” which talks about the life mistakes that he’s gone through in 2018. After the album dropped, he began to work on the next project “FRAUSTO” an album about the friends and family he’s thankful to be with and to pay respects to the people he’s lost, it was released in December 2020. In 2021, he dropped “Beyond the Bright Moon”. an album about a new direction with how he can break through his comfort zone with the vocal abilities he improved. And now, Josue is here with a great audience thanks to his fans, friends, and family. His next chapter has just begun.
His inspiration to make music comes from many artists that he looks up to when he was a kid. Artists like Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake & 2Pac. Those guys were my idols. It forever changes the way he hears music. Music from them has kept him inspired especially when he writes songs to tell how he’s feeling about a certain girl and how it impacts his point of view of her. There are songs that he wrote which will make him feel sad or happy but those are just effects of a relationship. He has been through a toxic relationship as he mentioned. This girl used Josue to get her ex-boyfriend jealous and we were pretty close but at the end of the day, he never wants to be with someone who was too insecure about her image. Making music forever changes my mindset about how I can tell stories about certain relationships, Josue dealt with from 2017 to 2022. Making music inspired by the classic 1980s, 90s, and 2000s is always a dream for him when he wants to take his talents to the next level.
People can expect a bunch of new music, content, and videos. Josue becoming more mainstream and versatile. He always wants his music to be as perfect as possible. He wants his music to end up on Billboard Hot 100 and for his future albums to gain more streams and listeners. So, people can enjoy his energy and make there day better. Josue wants his fans to respect him more as an artist and he wants to do a lot more with the stuff outside of music as time goes on. And he will keep working hard to reach the stage that few do.
